Our summer camps band curriculum was designed by renowned educator and artist Bonnie Hayes – expect an intense week of learning and fun! Students get individual instruction in the morning and put the songs together with a band in the afternoon, culminating in a short concert for friends and family on Friday afternoon.

This multi-disciplinary camp features fun instruction and workshops with Fort Mason residents Young Performers Theatre San Francisco (put on a play!), the Children’s Art Center (artmaking!), and Blue Bear School of Music (explore music!). For students going into grades 1-3 (fall of 2025) in the "MAD Camp” with 2-hour sessions at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm and a break for lunch at noon. Class runs Mon 6/30-Thu 7/3 this week because of the holiday.

In this four-day camp, students entering grades 7-11 will use Garageband to write songs. Modern music is not just made by bands anymore - a lot is made in the bedroom on a computer. This camp aims to give students the ability to make music in that way. They will use drum loops, bass lines, keyboard pads, and other electronic instruments and loops to create beats that someone artist can sing over. It culminates in a listening party on Thursday afternoon, before everyone leaves for the 4th.

Since 1980, Steve & Kate’s Camp has put kids in charge–allowing campers to choose from a variety of activities in real-time, including sewing, stop-motion animation, coding & gaming, sports & recreation, maker crafts, water play, baking, and more. As children are empowered to make their own choices at camp, they discover new reserves of confidence, resiliency, and creativity–learning to course correct and trust themselves as they go. Families can buy any number of days, to use at any time–no weekly reservations required. Or, buy a Summer Pass, which covers the whole season. Either way, any unused Passes are automatically refunded at summer’s end. Ages: 4–12 | Lunch, snacks & all hours (8am–6pm) included.
