This beginner acting class focuses on character creation and puts the “fun” in fundamentals. Using the story of The Wizard of Oz for inspiration, students will learn acting and movement techniques to create unique character choices for the Wicked Witch of the West, the Scarecrow, the Munchkins, and more. Explore Oz through improvisation and scripted work in this dynamic performance class.
Students will perform in an original Conservatory showcase, A Wickedly Good Wizard of Oz on December 14th from 12-1 pm (featuring scenes and songs from our Acting Ensembles and Musical Theatre class). This community event is sure to highlight…there’s no place like NCTC!
*Please be sure you can commit to the schedule and especially the final two classes (dress rehearsal & showcase day) and communicate any conflicts before registering. Unapproved absences may result in removal from some or all performance pieces–the show must go on, after all. Students must be available from 10am-1pm on showcase day.
