Get ready to let your creative self loose with no grades, no tests, and no stress! Campers can explore two exciting media experiences—Movie Camp and TV Camp—each with its own unique focus.
Movie Camp is ultra cool for kids who want to dive into filmmaking. Campers explore scriptwriting, auditions, filming, production, set design, editing, and games galore as they work together to bring their own movie ideas to life. The week wraps up with a special film festival at the local theater, where families can watch the campers’ creations on the big screen.
From “Quiet on the set!” to “We’re live!” TV Camp puts kids in the director’s chair of a real television studio. Campers create and produce news segments including weather, sports, human-interest stories, commercials, and plenty of on-air fun. A camp highlight is a walking field trip into town to interview local businesses. Each week ends with a live Friday broadcast for families.
Both camps are packed with creativity, collaboration, and plenty of fun with new (or old!) friends at KCAT TV.
KCAT offers hands-on media classes for kids in live TV, movie making, editing, podcasting, and acting, along with after-school programs and summer and winter camps that build creativity and production skills.
