High School Performance Ensemble: Twisted Oz | Kids Out and About San Francisco

High School Performance Ensemble: Twisted Oz

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 12/14/2024
We all know the story of Dorothy’s journey in The Wizard of Oz. Now, let’s twist it with modern references! Using Improv and teamwork, we’ll create hilarious new scenes for the story. What if the Flying Monkeys were in charge of the Witch’s TikTok channel? What if the Tinman and the Scarecrow went out on a date? What if Dorothy went on a reality TV show? Let’s stretch those creative muscles and make something new together.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Students will perform in an original Conservatory showcase, A Wickedly Good Wizard of Oz on December 14th from 12-1:00pm (featuring scenes and songs from our Acting Ensembles and Musical Theatre class). This community event is sure to highlight…there’s no place like NCTC!

*Please be sure you can commit to the schedule and especially the final two classes (dress rehearsal & showcase day) and communicate any conflicts before registering. Unapproved absences may result in removal from some or all performance pieces–the show must go on, after all. Students must be available from 10am-1pm on showcase day

*This class is intended to be part one of two. The fall session is open to all. Select advanced students will be invited to join the spring production session (1/11-5/4). Admittance to the spring session (based on experience, maturity, and project chosen) is determined by the Education Director.

  • At this time, new students may only register for the fall session
  • If you are a new student who’s interested in the spring session and unable to join the fall session, please contact Stephanie@nctcsf.org to set up an interview.
  • Returning High School Ensemble members may register for fall and email Stephanie@nctcsf.org for a pre-approved spring registration link.
