The Bay Area Discovery Museum offers Discovery Camps throughout the year, as well as multi-part classes for child and caregiver on various topics. Our camps and classes provide child-directed, inquiry driven learning through project-based, hands-on activities designed to boost creativity, STEM skills, and critical thinking.

Preschool life at Buen Dia is based on a child-centered philosophy. We believe that children learn best when they develop relationships with the whole community as well as their environment. As children learn and grow, play becomes a way for them to focus on what they naturally need to develop next and will inherently choose what their brains and bodies need for motor, social-emotional, and imaginative development. Buen Dia’s daily routine provides a framework that allows children to choose their own activities and to participate in group activities such as snack time and circle presentations. Daily offerings include: art, recycle construction, books, table games, dress-up, block building, cooking, science, music and outdoor play.

As subdivision of the Community Services Department, the Recreation Division prides itself through a wide range of educational, creative and fun programs offered for our community. Our goal is to “Create Community through People, Parks and Programs” by offering diverse programs and facilities that help build a strong sense of community, promote cultural diversity, encourage health and wellness, and support assets for youth.

The Parks and Recreation Division also provides high quality recreation programming that includes children and adult activities ranging from sports and crafts, to music and aquatics. Scotts Valley Recreation is proud to offer such a high level of service for the citizens of Scotts Valley.

Our thematic curriculum with interactive activities and communicative dynamics – Latin American themed songs, games and projects – teaches the use of language in context – to use in the classroom and beyond! Make introducing your child to Spanish language a fantastic experience!

We believe in giving our students a strong foundation from the beginning in preschool. Children are trained to love, cooperate and respect their parents, teachers and others. Alphabets and numbers are introduced with lots of fun activities including music, storytelling, crafts, dance and video clips. They are introduced to the wonderful love of God and how He created the world. Our parents marvel at how much their children learn after attending our preschool.

HW Club is an afterschool program (Monday-Friday) that emphasizes literacy and academics in a fun, social environment. Focus is on reinforcing the learning that happens in schools, providing additional support on school assignments and classes.

Highlands Recreation District offers a wide variety of classes for youth and adults.

Our curriculum is a combination Reggio Emilia, Learning through Play, and Preschool Learning Foundations following the California department of Education preschool program curriculum requirements. Daily lesson plans are introduced using structured themes with the children’s interests in mind. Children are given opportunities to learn about themselves through play, interactions with others while engaging in activities which focus on Social-Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Mathematics and Performing Arts.

Ninja Warrior Classes offered for adults and youth.

Our afterschool program provides opportunities for children ages 5-9 to explore the world around them through sensory, hands-on activities. All our activities are screen-free and promote cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development.

Truly awesome, unforgettable astronomy classes that are literally out of this world. Many fun, exciting STEM hands-on activities are done in each 45 min class. Our Virtual Astronomy & Space Academy has dozens of different topics about the universe.

Classes are online with ebooks or hard copy books.

It is our goal to help children develop and nurture their intrinsic love of learning, their independence, and their sense of community. In the process, we hope to aid them in becoming lifelong learners.

This music class is for preschool aged children. In class your child will: Sing, get hands-on exposure to a variety of rhythm instrument, develop listening skills,memorize words & movements, grow confidence to express her/himself through music.

Ottiya offers interactive Zoom classes for kids ages 5-12 for subjects like Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Ukulele, Coding, and Creative Storytelling. We also offer 1:1 K-5 tutoring support. Our students come from all over the globe. Come make new friends
