Petaluma Boo

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 10/31/2020
A Halloween Boo is a little gift or treat left anonymously by a friend or neighbor. Once you’ve been boo’d, you place a provided sticker on your lawn sign, to let everyone know you’ve gotten a Halloween surprise (Limit 3). But there’s more! Booing is a pay-it-forward game: Once you are Boo’d, it's your turn to choose two or more neighbors/friends and deliver treats to their house. Anonymously. Of Course.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

How to Boo:

  1. Purchase your Boo Kit (Instructions, lawn sign and stickers) for $20 by going to this link at the bottom of this page.

  2. Place your Lawn Sign in your yard from October 11-31st.

  3. Pick 2 or more participating homes to Boo (address list on website).

  4. At a time when you’re sure neighbors aren’t around, leave your treats near their front door. You can ring the doorbell if you like - but be sure to run so they don’t see you!

  5. Place a Ghost sticker on one (1) of the empty circles on your lawn sign so that everyone can see how many times you’ve been boo’d. Look for the Ghosts when you are deciding who to boo next - only three (3) boo’s per house, please! Keep your eyes peeled to see how many ghosts will appear in your neighborhood by Halloween!

What kind of “Treat” do I leave?

The treat is completely up to you! You don't need much! Make a fun gift basket with a couple small toys, stickers and candy.  Be creative!!

We recommend delivering your treats within a couple days of being boo’d, to make sure everyone in PETALUMA has a chance to be boo’d three (3) times.

Can I participate if I did not buy a yard sign?

Yes! If you want to BOO but don’t want to be Boo’d. We need you! You will be instrumental to those families you see that have NO ghosts.

How much does it cost and what do I get?

The cost is $20. This will include printed out instructions, a lawn sign and 3 Ghost stickers.

How do I pick up my materials?

Material Pick up will be in front of the Petaluma Community Center Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th from 9-12pm. 320 N McDowell Blvd, Petaluma, CA 94954
