MAKE - Museum of Craft and Design
*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 01/23/2024
MAKE is the place to collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes, and re-think materials through creative design projects—all happening after-hours in the galleries!
Spend your night at the museum! Explore Designing Peace through hands-on activations, connect in conversation, and wander the galleries to explore universal themes in peaceful design.
Ground your experience in the creative practices of local artists. Create intentional, place-based architecture with local designer and miniaturist Tammie Knight. Make a handheld labyrinth and practice transportable, tactile mindfulness with artist and educator Maia Scott. Re-imagine the world and take a role in designing peace with Carmela Gaspar’s collaged dreamscapes.
Plus, create community ceramics with a project co-authored by Liz Hernández and bookmarks of belonging to share with San Francisco Public Library patrons across the city.
Pre-registration is encouraged. All activities are free with admission.
Tickets: $10 General Admission, $8 for Students and Seniors, MCD members FREE.
