LEGO® Animal Robotics Summer Camp

A unique program for young engineers to introduce them to LEGO Robotics with the work of the most ingenious engineer of all time – Mother Nature! We will build program and explore clever robot models of different animals - Birds, Lions, Monkeys, Gorillas, Frogs, Giraffes, Horses, Parrots etc. Students will learn basics of scratch programming through a drag and drop icon based program. Students will then build LEGO® animal models featuring motors and sensors, program their models through their own code and explore a series of cross curricular activities such as music & animal sound creation, using LEGO® Education’s premier WeDo® LEGO® robotics program. Each lesson plan will be tied to a craft and hands on activity related to the animal build. Price includes free pre-care drop off at 8:30 AM.

Due to the Pandemic, there are limited spots (12 total). If interested, please pay the $99 deposit and reserve a spot for your campers. The full price of the camp is $899. Upon receiving your $99 deposit, If you want a guaranteed spot for your camper, we will email you and you can pay the balance of $800.
Intended for ages 5 - 12
Prerequisites:
- A fun attitude and interest to play and learn.
- We know summer is about fun and so we rely on parents to match kids to the appropriate program. If you have a young LEGO enthusiast who does not meet the age range for a program but you think will delight in our curriculum, email us and we can make exceptions info@brainvyne.com
Itinerary:
Here is an outline of a typical day. Each day campers will have a chance to a build a minimum of 3 new robotics builds. Team building, working with a partner, arts and crafts, outside play are interspersed throughout the day
- 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM Free Play Loose Lego/Crafts/ Coloring Sheets
- 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM Circle Time/Review Day's Plans
- 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM Coding Specific Lesson Presented/Reviewed
- 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM Recess/Restroom Break/Snack
- 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM One or two LEGO Robotics Builds based on complexity of build using coding principles taught for the day
- 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Lunch/Outside Play
- 12:45 -1:30 PM Art Activity - Paper Quilling, Oil Pastels etc
- 1:30 PM - 2:15 PM New Robotics Build
- 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM #2 New Robotics Build
- 3:00 PM - Pick up and Good byes
- 3:00PM- 5:00pm/5:30PM* - Outside Play/ Play Chess/ Jenga / Coloring Sheets
