Count Down to Halloween with this Easy Spooky Treat: Mummy Dogs!

by L'Ecole Culinaire

Halloween is coming up, and you or your kiddos probably have some ghoulish celebrations to attend.  Whether you’re throwing your own bash or attending someone else’s, making festive food for guests can leave you scratching your head for ideas.

Have no fear!  The chefs at L’Ecole Culinaire say you don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen to create a creepy (and tasty) treat that both kids and adults will love.  Here is a recipe for an easy to make spooky treat that’s as delicious as it is frightening!

Mummy Dogs

Makes 8 Mummy Dogs

Ingredients:

1 package of dinner roll dough (such as Pillsbury Crescent Rolls)

8 hotdogs or sausages

Yellow Mustard (for decoration)

Ketchup (for decoration)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Roll out entire piece of dough onto a flat surface.

Cut dough into 1-inch wide strips.

Mummify the dogs by wrapping the strips around them in a bandage-like fashion.

Bake for 12 minutes.

Dot on the eyes of the mummy using either mustard or ketchup.
